Verified Purchase. After watching the first five episodes of season five I started losing interest. Storyline is missing much of what made this show a favorite.

Conflicts and deception are a given. The interpersonal relationships were a small part of the picture that made me care about the conflicts that take up the focus of the show.

If I was a first time viewer of a season 5 episode, it wouldn't spark an interest to watch the prior seasons. Cast aside all logic and sense and enjoy the pretty people fighting over post-apocalyptic Earth.

Marie Avgeropoulos as Octavia is by far and away the most interesting character in the show. I've continued watching all the seasons almost entirely because I want to see what happens to her.

They killed off the other strong woman character that I really liked. The political and psychological machinations and intrigue run the gamut from surprisingly smart to absolutely preposterous.

I totally enjoy this show. If you've been watching this series, don't stop at season 4. Death, bad decision making, and radical character arcs are all part of the formula and they're all present in abundance in Season 5.

So far, it's satisfied the cliffhangers from the end of S4 in a pretty entertaining way but really, would it kill them to throw in like 10 minutes of someone having a good day for once?

My hubby and I really enjoy watching this show together. A lot of people think it is for a younger crowd, but even my elderly cousins watch it and they are in their 70s.
