One thing I'm very impressed with here is the directing. Schmidt does a terrific job, and you can say he's a horror geek by just watching several clips from the movie.
The kills are very effective and absolutely gory too, so if you are a fan of brutal death scenes, you will almost definitely dig the deaths.
The film does have some weak points though. So in short - Wrong Turn is a movie you either love or hate. I definitely belong to the first group for a couple of reasons, and even though I do realize Wrong Turn is not the best film ever, I love every second of it for one simple reason - it's a simple, highly enjoyable and scary no-brain throwback to 70s Horror movies, so if you're just looking for a fun and gory Horror film, Wrong Turn is then definitely a right turn, and an amazing film you should definitely not miss!

This is one of the very first mutant killer people movies made in the 's and the appearance and the way the psychopaths act was genuinely frightening in a lot of ways and somewhat goofy in other parts!
This one went all out on the blood, terror, and scares and it barley ever held back on the deaths which there was only eight of and about three were not that gory.
All in all I had an awesome time watching it and I would recommend it to any good horror fan! Acting: Eliza Dushku was brilliant and so was all the other actors Desmond Harrington Ghost Ship acted calm and cool in some scenes that I thought were necessary and he did perfect on them!
Gore: A brutal barb wire strangling scene, a head chopped in half with an axe, multiple gory arrow shots, a severed ear, severed limbs and more!

Wrong turn is a fantastic throw back to the good old VHS era of slasher movies, a simple yet brilliant plot about a group of 6 people that get stranded together in the woods of west Virginia after a series of events brought them together, while looking for help they stumble across an old house containing horrors like something Leatherface would be into, they suddenly realise its now a fight for survival as they are picked off one by one by a group of hillbilly mutated freaks!
There is plenty of great bloody kills all done on a great budget, the settings all look great and give the movie an authentic creepy claustrophobic atmosphere as they are trapped lost in the woods, the cast is all great, Eliza Dushku Buffy and Angel plays a gorgeous yet strong female lead, this is certainly a must in the horror collection for me, great movie, good to see a slasher horror with plenty of action and energy too.

After discovering an arsenal of knives and other tools, they return to the others, but the cannibals capture Daniel. The rest of the group overhear his screams and runs back to save him, but they arrive too late and Kyle finds the cannibals eating Daniel alive.
The teens chase the cannibals, successfully trapping them in a cell. They begin to kill them but Kenia refuses, saying that they will be just like the cannibals if they resort to execution now that they have them at bay.
The girls leave Kyle to guard the cannibals as they set off to find the spark-plug wires. While Kyle is asleep, the cannibals use Dr.
McQuaid's hair clip to escape and attack him. Giving up their search for the spark-plug wires, the girls return to the doctor's office.

Three Finger and the Old Man are the only returning characters from the first film. This time, the cannibals hunt down a group of reality show contestants who are taking part in a survival reality tv show.
Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead features a group of prison officers and convicts. The returning character Three Finger causes the transport bus to crash, allowing the convicts to escape and take the surviving prison officers, Nate Tom Frederic and Walter Chucky Venn prisoner.
While fleeing, the convicts and their prisoners stumble across a lost truck which had been transporting thousands of dollars, as well as Alex Miles Janet Montgomery , who has been lost in the woods since Three Finger killed the rest of her friends.
Three Finger finds Three Toes's severed head, which makes him furious. He creates a shrine and leaves the head on display in his cabin.
The one surviving convict, Brandon, convinces Nate of his innocence, and is set free. A greedy Nate returns to the truck to steal the money that Chavez wanted.
But Brandon shoots him in the back with a bow and arrow and takes the money for himself. An unknown cannibal comes up behind Brandon and bludgeons him with a crude club killing him and leaving Alex the only survivor in the film.
This film provides the back story to the three original killers and shows their childhood. It also shows how the three brothers and several others escaped.
The story focuses on a group of nine teenagers who take a wrong turn while riding their snowmobiles looking for their cabin. The friends decide to spend the night in the asylum and they are attacked by the three brothers.
By the end of the film, all nine teenagers are dead. The film served as a prequel to the first film. It is revealed that Maynard is a serial killer who has been on the run for over thirty years, and is now in cahoots with the three cannibal brothers.
He repeatedly refers to them as 'my boys' and his kin. Throughout the course of the film, the brothers attempt to break Maynard out of jail and kill off the college students and Sheriff Angela Carter Camilla Arfwedson , while the rest of the town is at the festival.
The film ends with Maynard and the three brothers escaping with the blinded Lita Roxanne McKee as a captive.
